The Zoological Society of Scotland are making an effort to raise the sum of £25,000 in order to lay out the 40 acres of ground belonging to them on the north side of the present park at Corstorphino. The ground was recently fenced by the Corporation of Edinburgh, and the old right-of-way, which formerly separated the two parts of the grounds, has been closed, a new foot walk having been formed. Preparations are being made for a midsummer carnival to be organised for the purpose of assisting the movement. Already a large number of Scottish noblemen have consented to become patrons; and the president, Lord Salvesen, has just been notified that H.R.H. the Prince of Wales will allow his name to appear at the head of the_ list.
