RETURNS FOR JANUARY. COAL MARKETS RECAPTURED. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 11. f The Board of Trade returns for January arc as follows: —Imports, £113,600,000; exports, £55,422,000. A remarkable feature is the almost complete recovery of the coal trade, over 4.092.000 tons, valued at £4,291,000, being exported in January, compared with 4.148.000 tons, valued at £3,281,0011 exported in January, 1926.—A. and N.Z. Cable. INCREASES AND DECREASES. LONDON, February 12. (Received Feb. 12, at 5.5 p.m.) The imports decreased by £418,000, the exports by £4,959,000, and the re-exports by £1,881,000. The principal decreases in imports were: —Grain and flour, £2,325,000; meat, £2,489,000; toon-dutiable food and drink, £2,263,000; raw cotton, £2,407,000; rubber, £2,124,000; nonferrous metals and their manufactures, £1,441,000. The principal decreases in exports were cotton yarns and their manufactures, £2,713,000. The chief increases in imports were: — Coal, £4,214,000; iron !|nd steel manufactures, £2,505,000; oils and fats and their manufactures, £1,996,000. The export of coal showed an increase of £469,000. — A. and N.Z. Cable.
