PARLIAMENTARY VOTES

THE DUKE OF YORK’S TOUR. FURTHER ASSISTANCE FOR MIGRATION. (Tress Association —By Telegraph—Oopvriffhi LONDON, February 10. A supplementary estimate submitted to the House of Commons for £2,158,000 includes a Treasury grant of £7OOO towards the Duke of York’s mission. This is apart from the amount the Admiralty is expending. There is also an additional £150.000 for assisted migrants’ passages in 1926. The amount is apportioned as follows: — £90,000 to Australia, £40,000 to Canada, and £20,000 to New Zealand. It is explained that the £518,000 originally voted proved inadequate owing to the marked growth in the number of eligible persons applying for passages. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
