(Received Fob. 11, at 5.5 p.m.) The threatened rupture of the Steel Trust formed by the French, German, Belgian and Luxembourg magnates to which reference was recently made has been averted by the withdrawal of the Goman resignations and a revision ol t u. quotas. Germany will now pay Ic. to the common compensation fund, but k promising to limit her exports to France. The general policy is to cut down pro Auction in order to combat the world tendency towards lower prices. - here is now a belief that Britain may soon be persuaded to cuter the cartel.-A. an 1 N.Z.
