TOURIST RESORTS.
ALL FREELY PATRONISED. A BUSY SEASON. (Special to Daily Times.) WELLINGTON, January‘24. The Government Tourist Department reports that the tenders for the new hostel at the Waitomo Caves will close on February 8. The news from Rotorua indicates that the weather has improved and the number of visitors for the Royal visit is likely to be more than was anticipated. The Hermitage at Mount Cook is well booked up, while the Franz Josef Glacier has attracted g record crowd ot .sightseers, one party numbering over 50. The Milford Track is also having a splendid season, the weather being excellent Thirty-four doctors who are attending the Medical Conference in Dunedin next week are coming from Australia by the Moerald, landing at Miltord and going overland by the track. ine general manager will meet them and personally conduct them through. The Wanganui River service has been well patronised, and the attention of the department to open a branch office in that town has given great satisfaction to the local authorities.
