INVERCARGILL WOOL SALE,
INVERCARGILL WOOL SALE. (From Our Own Correspondent-) INVERCARGILL, January 24. PROSPECTS BRIGHT'. Pospects for Friday’s wool sale in Invercargill are undoubtedly good. The total number of bales to be submitted is 22,244 as against 18,303 last year, an increase of 3941 bales. The wool this year has opened up light in condition and very bright in appearance. It is considered that this season’s clip is every bit as good, if not better than, has been the case for some years past. Hogget wool has the appearance of being much stronger than it was last year, and a satisfactory feature is that the percentage of cotted wool is much smaller than it was a year ago. The following is a Ist of fhe firms operating and the bales each is submitting:— Wright. Stephenson, 5416; National Mortgage, 4310; Dalgety and Co., 2395; J. R. Mills and Sons, 1236; J. E. Watson and Co., 1200; N.Z. Loan Co., 967; Henderson and Co., 1005; Southland Farmers’ Co-operative Association. 4181; J. G. Ward and Co., 1534. Total. 22,244.
