BUSH FIRES
SOUTH AUSTRALIAN OUTBREAK. GREAT DESTRUCTION WROUGHT. (Pr«» Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.} ADELAIDE, January 21. Bush fires are sweeping through the country at North Gawler, 25 miles from Adelaide. Three houses have already been burned, and more damage is likely. The residents are fighting the flames, which have a good hold on the vineyards and farms. Fanned by a high wind, the fires are sweeping Lyndoch, Mount Crawford, and Eden Valley, where the fodder crop is one of the heaviest known. The fire passea within two miles of Williamstown, where it was temporarily checked. The wind then changed, and the fire was divided into two sections, and the flames got out of hand. * At sunset the wind dropped, and it is anticipated that the outbreak will be extinguished. The damage totals many thousands of pounds.
