AMERICAN CROPS
MARKED SLUMP IN VALUES. COTTON MAINLY RESPONSIBLE. (Praia Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, December 21. A slump of more than a billion dollars in the value of important farm crops in the United States this year, compared with last year, is shown in the estimates of the Department of Agriculture. The decline is 'chiefly in the lower prices of most farm products, rather than in decreased production. Half the decline is on account of the low price of cotton, — A. and N.Z. Cable.
