| CITY CORPORATION NOTICES. J)UNEDIN CITY COUNCIL. HOUSE REFUSE CLEARANCE FOR THE HOLIDAYS. HOUSEHOLDERS ARE NOTIFIED that the following arrangements have been made for the Removal of House Refuse during the Christmas Holidays:— No service CHRISTMAS DAY, Saturday, 25th instant. * CAVERSHAM DISTRICT.—The parts of this district usually served on Saturday will (during - Christmas Week only) be cleared on FRIDAY, 24th instant. CENTRAL DISTRICT.—UsuaI services on Wednesday, 22nd, and Wednesday, 29th instant, but no service on Saturday, 23th instant. TEMPORARY CLOSINGPUBLIC LIBRARY. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the , LENDING DEPARTMENT of the Public Library, Moray place, will be Closed during JANUARY for cleaning and painting. No books will be issued after THURSDAY, December 23, and during January an assistant will be in attendance at the usual hours to receive books that are due. Motorists and others using this road are hereby notified that, with a view to safeguarding the traffic on the road, it is notified that •'•UP” Traffic to the POWER HOUSE MUST NOT ENTER at the IRON GATES leading off the Berwick road between the hours of 2.30 p.m. and 6 pan. on any day, thus leaving the road free for “DOWN ” Traffic from the Falls between these hours. It is not possible to apply this regulation to Corporation vehicles operating at the Foils, and the drivers of “DOWN” Traffic must not therefore assume that the road is absolutely open to them and in consequence relax precautionary ; measures. i • The Bush in the River Gorge is vested in the Dunedin City Council as a Scenic Reserve, and the public are warned against lighting fires or using firearms in the area.
