The quarterly meeting of the St. Joseph’s branch, No. 73, of tho Hibernian Society was held on Tuesday in the Dunedin Hibernian Social Club Rooms. The branch president, Bro. W. 11. Cole presided over the meeting, and there was a large attendance. The quarterly general communion of the St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s branches was arranged for Sunday, December 19, and will take place at St. Joseph’s Cathedral at the 9 o’clock mass. The district deputy, Bro. J. J. Marlow, and the branch president, Bro. W. H. Cole, were selected to represent the branch at the annual break-up of the Christian Brothers’ School. The sick visitors. Bros. J. Ryan, J. J. Marlow, jun., and E. J. O’Reillly, reported on their visits, after which the sick and other accounts were passed for payment. It was decided that the branch extends to Bishop »byte its svmpathy in tho tp-eat loss the diocese had sustained in ihe death of Monsitrnor Burke, of Invercargill.
