DOMESTIC SERVANTS
FREE PASSAGE TO AUSTRALIA. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, December 9. Mr W. C. Stillman, of the Commonwealth Immigration Department, stated that in future free passages would be offered to migrating domestics. This was being done so that Australia would not be placed at a disadvantage compared with New Zealand. Previously domestics paid £ll, the remainder of the fare being borne equally by the Commonwealth and the British Governments. These Governments w r ill now bear the whole cost.
