STOKER’S CONDUCT PRAISED. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, December 5. (Received Dec. 5, at 11.30 p.m.) The survivors of the sloop Valerian, which was lost in the West Indian hurricane in October last have arrived in London. The men particularly praise one of the stokeri who swam with a lifebelt from a raft saying he was “out visiting,’’ and cheered up the men who were in an exhausted condition after being 21 hours in the sea.—A. and N.Z.
