GAELIC SOCIETY.

The monthly meeting of the Gaelic Society was held on Friday evening in the Oddfellows* Hall. Stuart street. Chief I). Munro and Chieftain W. H'. M'Leod presiding. Before the programme was commenced the Chief made mention of the death recently of Mr ’ irdoch Graham, and called upon Piper George Munro to play a lament to his memory. The Chief also reminded his hearers that this was the final meeting of the year, and in Gaelic wished all present a merry Christmas and happy New Year. Mrs MTvor opened the programme with the Gaelic song “Suas lea’s a ghaelig.” Other songs sung by Mrs MTvor were “Ocli mar ha me.” “Air fal-al-al 0,” and another. Miss Maisie Scott danced a seann triubhais and an Irish jig, and Miss Margaret Sutherland a fling. Mrs Mathewson sang “Scotland Yet,” “Afton Water,” and ‘ Far Acr ss the Sea”; Mr Matheaon a Gaelic song, “MTibhinn og”; Miss Zaffer “Keep on Hopin,” and “Mary of Argyle”. Miss Kennedy, “Fal-il-o agus horo eile,” “Hi horo s’na horo eile.” and “Cath an cadil m ribhinn an nochd”; Mr I). M'Beath "Hi horo s’ma neanachd”; Chief D. Munro “Bhcann ngnm' fein” and another. Piper G. Munro -played a selection on the pipes, and Miss Zaffer supplied the accompaniments.
