RUGBY SUB-UNION. As was stated last week, a delegation from the North Otago Rugby Sub-union visited Palmerston and conferred with representatives of the Eastern Districts Subunion in regard to the proposal t 9 form a separate union for North Otago. The delegation consisted of Messrs C. Mollison, Stevenson, Young, and N. H. Colquhoun, who placed every aspect of the question before the Eastern Districts representatives. The latter, while expressing full sympathy with the project, decided to consult the individual clubs under their jurisdiction before arriving at a final conclusion. SCHOOL CONCERT. . A musical and dramatic entertainment was given by the pupils of Tesoh ©makers Convent in the College Hall on Saturday evening. The entertainment, which # attracted a considerable number of visitors from Oamaru and elsewhere, reflected the greatest credit upon both the teachers and pupils. BURGESSES’ ASSOCIATION. The membership of the Oamaru Burgesses’ Association is rapidly increasing, and this body promises to exercise a wholesome influence upon the civic life of the community. Meetings are to be held monthly in the M'Lean Hall, and at the meeting this (Monday) evening, several important questions are to be discussed. ? COUNTRY TENNIS. The last match in the country competitions was played between Kurow B and Duntroon at Duntroon. Inclement weather was responsible for only 11 sets being t,laved, Duntroon winning the match by a to 3.
