Naidu scored a brilliant 153. —Sydney Sun Cable. VICTORIA v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. GOOD SCORE BY PONSFORD. ADELAIDE. December 3. (Received Doc. 3, at 11.50 p.m.) A Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and South Australia has commenced. Victoria has six down for 265 (Ponsford 178, Hendry 30. Mitchell 32). The weather was fine but dull, and the wicket was good. Ponsford played attractive and aggressive cricket, and the runs came quickly after luncheon. After the interval the batsmen treated the bowling with great respect, and the rate of scoring was much slower. The fielding throughout was ve-y faulty.
