AUCKLAND, December S. t-T'j “ . lie man who was assaulted was stabbed, and five stitches were put in his groin,” said Senior Sergeant Edwards, when Joseph Andre was charged that, on December 2, lie assaulted George Car- t. gill, causing him actual bo-.iily harm. In asking for hail Mr J. J. Sullivan said accused had a clean record, and had never been before the court previously.. He thought it would be admitted that ... the assault was accidental. Senior Sergeant Edwards said it would ■ - not, of course, be said that it was acc-f----ctental, but there might have been some provocation for the alleged assault. Accused was remanded till December 0, bail being fixed at £25.
