BOXING.
ARTIE HAY v. JAMITO. Patrons of boxing are looking forward to Monday night's contest at His Majesty’s Theatre between Artie Hav and Salvino Jamito. It is essential to correct a previous statement that those two men had not previously met. Oh the one occasion on which they met Hay won on a foul. When it is mentioned that Hay, who is the New Zealand welter-weight champion, has to his credit wins over Dick Loveridge, Gus Fenn, Salvino Jamito, Harry Casey, and lias drawn with Charlie Purdy, his record is one to be respected. Though lie has weight, heirht, and reach in his favour, Hay will have to keep his hands and head busy when opposed to the pugnacious Jamito, who is out to avenge his previous defeat. Two six-round amateur bouts will precede the big contest. A good programme has been arranged by the Otago Boxing Association. The box plan for reserves is at the Bristol. Jamito will give an exhibition spar at Lcs Murray’s rooms this evening. VICTORY FOR PHIL SOTT. (Press Association—Bv Telegraph -Copyright.) LONDON, December 2.
