An unusual sight was seen in the Pool in Paris in August, when a couple of young Frenchmen turned up in their canoe, which thev had paddled from Rouen. The route had been up the Seine to the junction with the Oise, and along the St. Quentin and iS'ord Canals to Calais. They had paddled across the Channel to Dover, and had hugged the coast thence to the Nore.
