NEGLIGENT DRIVING.
MOTORISTS BEFORE THE COURT. POUR MEN CHARGED. (Special to Dails Times.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 3, Charges of negligent driving were preferred against four motorists in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. Athel Stronacfi and Leslie E. Anderson were the respective drivers of the cars concerned in a collision on Riccarton road. The Magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) dismissed the charge against Anderson, but convicted Stronach and ordered him to appear before the court within seven days to produce his license, which is to be £3 and costs was imposed. The Magistrate said that he preferred to deal with the license rather than inflict a heavy fine, which might cause undue hardship. Supension from driving was a severe punishment!. The charge against Albert Buckley, who knocked over a little girl while crossing the footpath into a right-of-way, was dismissed. Eor failing to sound his horn at an intersection, Peter Cameron was fined 20s and costs; and for rising an endorsed certificate he was fined 20s and costs. Ppr negligent driving he was convicted and fined £5 and costs. His driving license was suspended till March 31 nest, and he was disqualified from obtaining a motor driver’s certificate for six months after that date.
