Ministerial. Tlie Hon. W. Downie Stewart (Acting Prime Minister) will return to Wellington by the through express this morning. A Press Association cablegram from London states that the King gave an audience to Sir James Parr, Now Zealand High Commissioner. Messrs W. Anderson and J. R. Laidlaw have been elected members of the Dunedin Stock Exchange. ; A Perth cable message says that Mr W. G. Angwin, at present Minister of Lands and Migration, will succeed Mr H. P. Colebatch as Agent-general for Western Australia.
Mr F. K. Newall. who has been manager of Messrs G. Methven and Company’s George street showrooms for 12 years, has tendered his resignation. He intends shortly to commence in business on hio own account.
Mr G. F. Michie, of the firm of Messrs Michie and White, produce merchants and surveyors, of Smithfield, is at present on a visit to Dunedin. Mr Michie, who is staying at the Fernhill Club, is a son of Mr Alexander Michie, now resident in London, who was at one time well known in banking circles in the Dominion.
