PROPOSAL TO SUBSIDISE OPERA COMPANY. I Tran Association—B» Xelegrapfc—Copyright, t LONDON, November 18. In view of the recent controversy concerning the effect of broadcasting upon the concert world, interest is added to the announcement that the new Broadcasting Corporation will consider a proposal to subsidise the British National Opera Company, which in return will agree to broadcast weekly excerpts from grand opera. An opera official states that the company would be unable to exist without the subsidy.— Sidney Sun Cable.
