STEALTHY FOOTSTEPS.
QUEER NOISES IN BEDROOM,
Ghostly manifestations are disturbing the village of Oxspring, near Sheffield (EuglaMr George Rovrst, an engine-driver, baa been awakened from his sleep night after night by stealthy footsteps walking up the stairs along the corridor, into his bedroom, and round his bed As a diversion there has been shaking of his bed, the shifting of chairs, and the clattering of drinking glasses on the washstand. _ A few weeks ago Mr and Mrs rlowse became so troubled that they friend to sleep in the bedroom They did not tell her about the peculiar happenings, but during the night she woke up terrified. She declared that she saw a glass move on the washstand, felt a chair move by the bedside and heard footsteps walking round. On another occasion the bedroom window cracked and a loud bang was heard in the attic over the bedroom. A zinc bath full of tools is kept in the attic and it sounded as if the tools had_ fallen from a height into the hath, but an mvestigation showed that, the tools and bath were undisturbed.
