Mr -Lawry was a,istudent at King’s College, Auckland, before entering the ministry. Mrs Black, relict of Mr James_ Black, died suddenly at her residence in Balclutha on Tuesday morning at the age of 88 years. The deceased was a very old 1 resident of Balclutha, having resided in the district since before the flood of ’7B. She enioyed good health until shortly before her death. She is survived bv , one son, Mr. John Black, of Dunedin. There died at his residence in Pacific ! street. Roslyn, yesterday morning the Rev. H. B. W. White, at the early age of 39 years. Mr White was one of the , most popular padres in camp at Trentham and Featherston during the war, , and after, and he was the last chaplain , to be demobilised. He was at one time vicar of a Blenheim parish, and subse--1 quently he was appointed to the parochial district of. Waikouaiti. Before his death he was curate assistant of St. Paul’s Cathedral to the Bishop. The burial service will be read at his home in Pacific street, and the body will be, interred'at Waikouaiti. deceased is 1 survived by his wife (a daughter of Mr 1 Goyen fex-inspector of schools in the Otago Education Board’s district) and ’ one daughter.
