The Free State has struck a dramatic blow at the Republicans by arresting General Bofin and other I.R.A. leaders.— Sydney Sun Cable. The Free State arrested on April 7. 1925, the “Irish De Wet,” General Bofin, an es-British officer who had evaded capture since 1925, when he proclaimed * miniature republic at Roscommon in the mountains. He married during the siege on his stronghold, spent his honeymoon in a cave, and escaped through the cordon with his bride. The Free State authorities subsequently released Bofin.
