RIVAL BOOTLEGGERS
GUERILLA WARFARE WITH AEROPLANES. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, November 12. Advices from Herrin, Illinois, state that members of the rival bootlegging gangs are now using airplane , to carry on a vicious guerilla warfare. A lowflying airplane circled the house of a gang leader and dropped three bombs. The first exploded a hundred yards from the house, doing no damage, and the other two were duds.’ The inmates ran from the building and opened fire on the_ ’plane with machine guns and rifles, while the ’plane circled the house three times, and then sped away. The pilot kept well under cover, and was not hurt.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
