ALFRED NOBEL BEQUEST. PRIZE FOR PHYSICS. (Frau Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) STOCKHOLM, November 12. The Nobel Prize for physics, 1925, has been divided between Professor J. Frank, of Gottengen University, and Professor G. Hertz, of Halle University. The 1926 prize has, been awarded to Professor Jean Perrin, of the Sorbonne. The Nobel Prizes are awarded from the income of a fund which -was bequeathed to trustees for distribution to those who have contributed most largely to the common good. The money is divided into five shares, which are devoted to workers in the domains of (a) physics, (b) chemistry, (c) medicine or physiology, (d) literature, and (e) the preservation of peace. The testator was the Swedish scientist, Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, who died in December, 1896, leaving a fortune of about £1,750,000. The awarding authorities are; (a and b), the Swedish Academy of Science; (c) the Stockholm Faculty of Medicine: (d) the Swedish Academy of Literature; and (e) a committee of five persons elected by the Norwegian Storthing).
