FREEZING WORKERS’ DISPUTE.
HAWKE’S BAY MEN RETURNING. VOLUNTEER-KILLED MEAT NOT ‘■BLACK.’' (Peb Exited Press Association.) HASTINGS, November 13. It is learned from an authoritative source this morning that the butchers will be back on the boards on Monday or Tuesday. The informant said that there were South Island men on the boards in Hawke’s Bay at present, and there were 500 more ready to come if required. The meat which has been killed bv volunteer labour cannot be cedarca “black.” It has not been killed by “black” labour, because there is no strike. The freezing workers will be addressee to-morrow by Mr Glover. . GISBORNE, November 13. The two local freezing works will commence killing operations on to* 92 The managements do not anticipate trouble, as many of the men have been working through the winter, and ar_ unwilling to join the dispute. . In the event of uni°n labmir no oem, available volunteers will be taken on.
