END OF AUSTRALIAN DROUGHT. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. I SYDNEY, September 27. The rain spread to Victoria, extending over the whole wheat area. Many sheep which were driven in from the outlying districts dropped exhausted in hundreds at Essendon. They were hand-fed and nursed by the local residents as they fell by the roadside, and presented a pathetic spectacle ; but the beneficial rain prevented further losses.
