A large portion of the drought-stricken areas in Western Queensland has benefited considerably by heavy rain, and *he prospect is encouraging for further falls. Rain has also fallen in the coastal districts. NEW SOUTH WALES ALSO BENEFITS. SYDNEY, September 27. (Received Sept. 27, at 9.30 p.m.) The whole of the drought-stricken areas in this State and Queensland benefited by the week-end rains, which were the heaviest for a considerable time.
