FRENCH BIRTHRATE
i INCREASE SINCE THE WAR NEED FOR MORE HOUSES. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) PARIS, September 24. Mr Isaac, president of the Council for the Study of the Birthrate, presiding at the Natality Congress, said that he was gratified that since the war the birthrate in France had increased, and was no longer following the last half-century’s downward curve; but the lack of housing accommodation was still chocking it. He estimated that at least 2,000,000 workers’ dwellings were needed.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
