AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
VISIT OP AMERICANS. (Peb United Peess Association.) WELLINGTON, September 24. The Athletic Council has decided to proceed with the arrangements for the visit of the American team. A cablegram is to be sent to its representative in America (Mr Krogness) to invite two athletee—Osborne, if available, and a sprinter. The terms will be the tame as those of last year. The men wdl leave Vancouver on December 15 on a 10 weeks tour The centres have agreed to the guarantees, with the profits divided on a basis profit made by each centre except Auckland, which disagrees. Auckland stated that it would guarantee £IOO as its share on condition that the pooled profits were divided pro rata, according to the amount a difference with the chairman, and a refusal to withdraw his remarks, to which exception was taken Mr Wilton, the West Coast Centre's delegate, withdrew, saying that he was practically expelled. Me would have to ask his centre to appoint another delegate.
