DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE. Tile Stock Exchange became fairly active towatds the end of tbe past week. The outstanding event has bean the autlden recovery of St. Bathans shares, which after a period of quietness, during which a sale was effected at 4s premium, made a leap into prominence again, the shares changing hands at a greatly improved price. On Thursday at the afternoon call the shares made an immediate improvement of 2s, and two lots were then turned over at 6s fid premium. Yesterday the price for A’s reached 8s fid and B’s found a buyer at Bs. Further lots of the A issue were on offer at the market price, but buyers would not give more than Bs. B’s were wanted at 7s 9d. Kawaraus increased in value up to 3s on Thursday, but yesterday buyers would not give more than 2s 7d, seller aking 2s 9d. Mount Lyells are better, with a buyer at 26s fid, but sellers will not take less than 275. Bank of New South Wales shares are firmer, buyers offering £45 2a fid. Bank of New Zealanda are still without sellers, though 62s 9d is offered. E.S. and A’s are also a little stronger. National Insurances are on offer at B.la without buyers. Other insurance stocks are unchanged. Huddart, Parkers have weakened a little, the best offer at present being 47a fid. Sellers ask la more, lnquu**y ia made for T. and O. Deferred Stock at £248. Business in Westport Coals at 36a has been reported. Buyers quote at 35s 9d on ’Change. There have besn several transactions in New Zealand Refrigerating contributing shares at 6s Id. A parcel was offered at tHat price yesterday, but the best offer was 5s lOd. „ . . D. are wanted at Bs. Dominion Rubbers have firmed again, and parcels changed hands at 60s and 49a fid yesterday.
