WHARF LABOURERS ON STRIKE. EFFECT OP WATERSIDERS’ ACTION. (Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) BRISBANE, July 19. The hold up of shipping at Bowen, caused by the waterside workers refusing to work except under the rotary system of employment, has resulted in the Inkerman mill ceasing cane crushing, and all shifts have been paid off. So far only one sixth of the estimated crop has been crushed Qver 200 farmers are idle, and some thousands of tons of cane standing over are deteriorating.
