PROTEST AGAINST ‘TRANSFER. iPeb United Fbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 7. At a meeting of the Canterbury Chambefof Commerce Mr E. HWyles reported regarding the complaint made about country racing clubs holding their meetings in Christchurch. He said that the matter had been laid bef re the executive of the New Zealand Federation of Draners, Merc rs, Clothiers, and Boot Retailers ’ eld in Wellington m June, when the following motion was -assed:— “That this federation protests against the too-frequent transfer ->£ country race meeting permits to metropolitan centres as being an unfair burden on the trading community.”
