THEFT OF TOBACCO.

BOX STOLEN FROM U SHED. Yesterday morning it was discovered that thieves had entered the U Shed on the Victoria wharf and removed a 2301 b case of pipe tobacco valued at £BO. The theft was committed during the week-end, some time between Saturday and Sunday evening Entrance to the shed was gained by removing two large padlocks attached to the main doors. All other goods in the sheds were intact. The police are making investigations, but up to last evening no arrest had been made.
