HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE.

It is doubtful if a stronger vaudeville combination has been seen in Dunedin than the J. C. Williamson Vaudeville Company which will close its season here this evening. The artists comprising the company have been recruited from the firm’s Australian circuit, where they have scored big successes, which they are now repeating throughout the Dominion. The leading turn is provided by Niobe, a lady with a chest expansion of 61 inches, who is able to remain under water for lengthy periods without suffering any apparent discomforts. An artist who makes a great impression is Walter Nilsson, who rides round the stage on a nnievclc. the sent of which is at least right feet from the stage. He is, in addition, a comedian with original methods. Francois performs antics on a very large ball, and Ilarmston's cockatoos do things that few would expect from birds, however intelligent. Jones and Raines are a clever musical couple, and Miss Dorothy Browne provides a pleasant interlude with her melopiano. The Flemings are clever people, w);o present an excellent statuary art, and Rupert Hazell and Miss F.lsie Day are a constant joy in a oomedv and music sketch, in which the former is first seen as a parson, and latter as a player of a onestringed violin. Miss Odette Dolagc contributes a delightful musical turn. There will be a matinee this afternoon, and the final performance will lie given tonight.
