ELECTION OF CHAIRMEN. (Peb United Press Association > PALMERSTON N., May 27. The following' county chairmen were elected to-day.—Mr H. H. Hunt. Manawatu; Mr F IV Arbon, Pohangina; Mr Joa. Batchelar, Kairanga; Mr L. T. M'Lean Kiwitea. WAIPAWA, May 27.. Mr A. Rohottom was elected chairman of tne AVaipawa County Mr Philip Best was re-elected chairman of the Waimea Countv Council. HOKITIKA, May 27. Mr William Jeffries was to-day elected chairman of the estland County Council unopposed. (From Odr Own Correspondent.) QUEENSTOWN, May 27. Mt William Reid was unanimously ree’ented chairman of the Lake County Conntil to-day. TUAPEKA COUNTY COUNCIL. At the annual meeting of the Tuapeka County Council Mr A. C. Leary, member for Brown’s Riding, was elected chairman for the ensuing 12 months.
