“When is Invercargill going to be linked up with Monowai?” is a question being asked almost daily by the man in the street when discussing the Southland Tiller trie Power Board’s scheme. An inquiry made on Wednesday (says the Southland Times) elicited the information that although arrangements are practically completed, it will be June 1 before the Borough of Invercargill is connected with Monowai, this date being definitely set down for the change over from the local power house. American visitors to London are estimated to spend about £20,000,000 in the metropolis each yeax.
