GERMAN FACTIONS

COMMUNISTS AND NATIONALISTS. REVIEW OF RESPECTIVE FORCES. (Pres. Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, May 24. The German Communist Party and the extreme Nationalist organisation, the Stahlhelm or steel helmets, held reviews of their respective forces yesterday—the former in Berlin and the latter in Dusseldorf. The number of Communists was estimated at 30,000, and the Stahhelmites at 50,0CX). Large forces of police, including mounted men, were present. The proceedings were orderly. The Communist review was held in a large park in Berlin in the presence of thousands of curious spectators. Arrayed in semi-military uniform, they performed military evolutions with commendable celerity, while the bands played revolutionary airs. Many speeches were made denouncing everything and everybody, including the British trade union leaders for their betrayal of the workers, after which the assembly dispersed, with bands playing and banners flying, and singing songs, including the Communists’ latest favourite "Mother, a Policeman has Killed Your Child. The police aeroplanes circled overhead during the proceedings. — Reuter.
