AUCTION SALES COMMENCE. SPIRITED BIDDING RECORDED. All concerned are pleased with the results of the first sales by auction of bition good*, which commenced yesterday afternoon in the motor pavilion at Loga.i Park. The attendance of the public was excellent. considering that the lots offered appealed only to a comparatively small section of the community, and local buyers were present in force. All the goods were part of the Edina tion Court, and the proceeds of the sales will go to the Education Court Committee. “It is very encouraging that the first auction sale at the Exhibition should nave been attended with such good results and that the public is so keen,” said the auctioneer (Air E. L. Maoassey). “There were 219 lots, including dressed shelving, large quantity Maxwell and beaver board, quantity deal three-ply, large quantity Hass (21oz and 2(ioz) showcase materials. Tight scantling. H ss door, ele-ctric light fittings : <1 bnibs. showcases, roofing iron, a quantity of new flooring, and several lots of firewood.” All the lots exrerf the glass were sold.
