ORPHANS’ CLUB.

The second meeting of the Orphans’ Club's 1926 season was held last night, the vice-president (Bro. T. W. Dobbie) occupying the chair. There was a large attendance of members, and there were also present visitors from Norway, " Melbourne, Auckland, Oamaru, and tho Bluff, who were accorded the usual Orphans’ welcome. A lengthy musical and elocutionary programme was presented, tho following items being contributed;—Songs, Bros. J. Angell, E. Drake, S. G. Angell; humorous selections—Bros. Fullarton, Wilson-Crown; recitation, Bro. J; Flynn; instrumental selections—Bros. Whelan, Anson, Adams; stories. Canon Nevill. Tho Orphans’ Club orchestra, under the baton of Bro. H. Davey, rendered a number of selections during the evening.
