OTAGO LABOUR COUNCIL.

The annual meeting of the Otago Labour Council was held on Thursday evening last in the Trades Hall. Mr C. E. Hunt (president of the council) occupied tho chair, hew delegates were received from the Metal Workers’ Assistants’ Union. Mr A. L. Monteith workers representative on ihe Arbitration Court, and Mr T. Armstrong. M.P.. were welcomed as visitors. The balance sheet for the half-year disclosed a satisfactory credit balance. The council decided to support the resolution from the Auckland Council empowering Mr H. B. Holland, M.P.. officially to represent the Trades and Labour Council Federation at the Honolulu Conference, which has been called to discuss various questions relating to the peace of the Pacific. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows i —President, Mr C. Hewitt; vice-presidents, Messrs R. Harrison and W. Baker: secretary, Mr J. Robinson: treasurer. Mr J. Haymes : committee—Messrs D Baird, C. E. Hunt, F. Jones, and \V . Cocking: delegate to Workers’ Educational Assoelation, Mr F. Jones.
