ADELAIDE, May 7. • Before the Police Bribery Commission a bookmaker gave evidence that he was several times removed from the racecourses by the police. He was advised by friends that it was no use, “unless you sling.” He several times paid money to constables, and was then not molested. In his opinion it was utterly impossible to conduct betting on the racecourse without bribing the police.
