The island is north-east from Auckland’s “Sentinel” (Kangitoto), and is protected from all cold south-west winds thereby. The island is surrounded by deep water, mcl has numerous beautiful bays and sandy beaches, and will grow crops of almost any sort all the year round; 20 subdivisions, with never-failing springs in every paddock. Fences sheep-proof. Beef and mutton invariably ensure top market prices at Westfield Cattle Market, and crops of potatoes, pumpkins, melons, turnips, etc., are eminently successful. Almost everything requisite in the way of meat, poultry, vegetables, butter, milk, etc., are produced from the farm. There are two homesteads, one of 13 rooms and one of 6 rooms; also very large corrugated iron building, comprising barn, shearing shed, etc., in first-class condition.
