WHAT SYDNEY SPENDS IN ENTERTAINMENTS. (From Oub Own Cobhespondent.) SYDNEY, April 29 Of the cup of pleasure Sydney drinks deeply, and apparently docs not count tincost. In Sydney alone, it Is estimated, over £4,000,000 is spent annually on entertainments. This is regarded as & very consor-
vative estimate. Estimating that the eleven theatres and the 147 picture shows in the metropolitan area present at* average of one show to 500 patrons each day, it is found that about 23.009.000 people arc thus entertained in « year. The average daily attendance is probably higher at those shows.
