FRUIT EXPORT. The secretary of the Otago Provincial Fruitgrowers* Council (Mr H, Turner) advises that the High Commissioner's London report on the fruit market for the week ended April 10, is as follows: Fruit.—Arawa shipment: General conditions are not satisfactory, largely owing to •‘over-maturity and fair amount of waste. Good deal has been returned to brokers and not all sold yet. Port Denison condition better, and Port Hunter better still: hesitating demand and prices uncertain. Arawa’s prices are;—Cox’s Orange, 10s to 22s up. to 25s per case; Worcester Pearmain, 8s to 14s per case; Gravonstein, 7s to 14s per case, Dunn’s Favourite, 14s to 15s per case. Port Denison and Pert Hunter’s prices:— Cox's Orange, 18s to 21s per case; Jonathan and Delicious, 16s to 18s per case; Dunn’s Favourite, 14s to 18s per _ case; Worcester Pearmain and Golden Pippin, 12s to 14s per case • Ribston Pippin, 14s to 16s per case; Willie Sharp, 12s to 15s per case. These shipments represent the first arrivals from Wellington. The first Otago shipment is per Tongariro, due in London in about four weeks’ time, and carrying about 10,000 cases of Otago apples. HASTINGS APPLES. (Peh United Pr-ss Association.) HASTINGS, April 14. The packing of applies . for export in Hastings is going along briskly, and by the end of the week it is expected that 80,000 cases will have been despatched. Packing will cease at the end of the month, when it is hoped that the 100,000 mark will have been reached. WOOL SALES. MELBOURNE AND BRISBANE SERIES. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY. April 14. (Received April 14, at 5.5 p.m.) The wool sales at Melbourne and Brisbane disclosed continued keen competition. In Melbourne the prices showed little alteration from last month’s closing rates, while at Brisbane supers and scoureds were par and ordinary fleece wools 5 per cent, higher. Average pieces were 5 per cent, to 7J per cent. up. LONDON WHEAT MARKET. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, April 13.
