AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
(Pd United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 13. The Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association decided to convene a conference comprising one delegate from each of the Manawatu and Wairarapa sub-centres and two delegates from the centre to discuss various matters. Because he was 200 miles from an Amateur Club Dr E. B. Watson (Palmerston North), who had performed in the athleticfield in various universities, thought he could compete as a professional, and did so at Central Otago. The centre decided to recommend his reinstatement. Regarding Otago’s objection against the five ladies from Wellington having entered for the 100 Yards Championship at the New Zealand championships, as it was stipulated that there was a limit, the council informed the’ centre that no. limit had been placed on the actual competitors.
