ROLLTOP STOCKINGS. SHORT SKIRTS TO REMAIN. {Press Association—By relegrap.i—-Copyright.) LONDON, April 12. (Received April 13, at 5.5 p.m.) The most startling secret in London’s summer fashions, as revealed by a draperv .exhibition, is an attempt to popularise rolltop stockings, which have had a most sucessful vogue in America. The designers declare that many will be w rn by fashionable people in the summertime. The designs conclusively prove that the short skirt is remaining. This has caused considerably attention to be devoted to stockings, many of which are cf extraordinary design. The most n.ovel one shows coloured flowers woven in the front. Others are known as bracelet stockings, upon which 18 carat gold tinsel is worked round the ankles in bewildering colour tints with the object of obtaining as -nearly as possible a natural colour. The prices range up to 90s. The entire frocking is of the flimsiest gaily-flowered surfaces. Gauntlet gloves will be embroidered with cornflowers, pansies, and poppies.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
