WRESTLING.

CHAMPIONS MEET, (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 12. A wrestling contest this evening between Ern Anderson (Palmerston North, lightheavyweight champion of New Zealand) and Billy Meeske (light-heavyweight champion of Australia), to be decided on the best of six bouts in catch-as-catch-can style, and the best of three falls in Cumberland style, provided a good contest. Anderson stood up excellently to his, more experienced opponent in the catch-as-catch-can style and all six bouts were indecisive. However, Meeske was awarded a victory on points. In the Cumberland style Anderson obtained two falls to Meeske’s one. A deciding bout was wrestled in catch-as-catch-can style, and after a fine struggle Meeske obtained a fall which won him the match.
