(Received April 9, at 0 20 a.m.) The first shot in the State election campaign was fired at Toowoomba when the leader of the Country and National Pro r essive Party delivered his policy speech. Mr Moore said that the ' people of Queensland had suffered a humiliatin • experience during the recent railway strike. As the authorities did not lift a finger to uphold the laws f the State the lawbreakers were encouraged and so intolerable did the state of affairs become that the citizens were compelled to protect their own rights The whole affair was a travesty of Government. The elections will be held on May 8.
